Properties - Start Menu

The Start Menu feature allows you to select which directory will be used for eXPerience's start menu. eXPerience's start menu is accessed by selecting the start button, then "All Programs".

How to access Properties.

The selected directory can contain any file you wish to display in the menu (not just .lnk or .exe files).

The first 2 options in Directory Path are set to Pocket PCs traditional start menu directories.

The 3rd option in Directory Path allows you to set any directory as the menu directory.

Select the '...' button to navigate to the desired directory.

The 'Path' button displays the full path of the directory.

By default, when changes are made to the start menu directory while eXPerience is running, the changes won't be reflected in the menu.  You have the option to reload the menu manually or set it to reload automatically.  If you rarely add or remove programs, then leave the setting on "Only at Startup".  If you are constantly changing files, then you may want to consider the "Always" option.

Tap 'Reload Now' to reload menu information on command.

Here is an example of what happens when menu information changes and eXPerience hasn't reloaded the menu.

We added a directory called "MyApps" to the start menu directory.

This is what it looks like in eXPerience:

Rename "MyApps" to "Applications"

eXPerience still has the old information.

Select 'Reload Now' to update the menu.

If the "Always" option is selected, then the menu would reload automatically.  Select the Always option if performance isn't an issue on your device.

eXPerience now displays the current information.
